Release overview

iOS 17.1 was publicly released on October 25, 2023. iOS 17.1 extended AirDrop beyond proximity, expanded Apple Music favorites, and refined StandBy while also delivering maintenance and security updates.[1][2]

Transfers could continue over the internet after devices moved out of AirDrop range. Music gained broader favorites and playlist suggestions, and supported always-on iPhones received more StandBy display controls.[1][2]
