MacRumors reported the iPhone 2.0.2 release on August 18, 2008 and preserved Apple’s update description as a generic bug-fix notice. An iPod touch 2.0.2 package was also reported.[1]
At launch, reporting explicitly said it was not yet known whether the package fixed the widely discussed 3G connectivity problem, and early reports had no consensus. This article does not turn that rumor into a documented release claim.[2]
