What changed

Original editorial synthesis. Linked references appear with the claims they support and in the source ledger.

Apple corrected certificate-chain validation for X.509 certificates. The prior behavior could let an attacker in a privileged network position capture or alter data in SSL/TLS sessions and could permit other certificate-validation attacks.[1]

The package improved validation of X.509 certificate chains and appears in Apple’s archived security index on July 25, 2011.[1][2]
