Release overview

watchOS 10.0 reached the public channel on September 18, 2023. The release redesigned many built-in apps, added the context-aware Smart Stack and new navigation conventions, introduced five watch faces, and substantially expanded cycling, hiking, mental-health, and daylight-tracking tools.[1][2]

Release boundaries

Apple's launch article separately marked NameDrop, additional Smart Stack media suggestions, and Fitness+ Audio Focus for updates later in 2023, so those features are not attributed to the 10.0 public appearance here. Mobile Device Management support, by contrast, was identified as part of watchOS 10 at launch.[3]
