Release overview

macOS Sonoma 14.0 was released publicly on September 26, 2023. Its launch feature set emphasized desktop personalization, video conferencing, browsing, and gaming, with interactive desktop widgets, screen savers that become wallpaper, Presenter Overlay, Safari profiles and web apps, and Game Mode.[1][2]

Administration and development

Sonoma also expanded managed-device capabilities. Apple documents date-and-time enforcement for software updates, account-driven enrollment, Managed Device Attestation, new certificate declarations, network relays, and hardware-bound ACME keys. The corresponding SDK notes collect the platform's framework-level additions, behavior changes, and resolved issues for developers.[3][4]
