Release overview

visionOS 1.0 was the launch operating system for Apple Vision Pro when the device became available in the United States on February 2, 2024. It introduced a three-dimensional interface controlled with eyes, hands, and voice, an unbounded workspace for scalable app windows, immersive Environments, and a dedicated App Store alongside compatible iPhone and iPad apps.[1][2]

Privacy and accessibility

The initial platform paired Optic ID with private eye-tracking behavior and a visible capture indicator in EyeSight. Its spatial accessibility set included adaptations of VoiceOver, Zoom, Switch Control, and Guided Access, plus Pointer Control, Dwell Control, Voice Control, and dominant-eye tracking.[3]
